Trompe L’Oeil can be used to create faux facades, columns and mouldings where none such exists. On existing plain walls, columns and mouldings Trompe L’Oeil decorations can be painted to create an ornate effect, for example, egg and dart motif on coving is a favourite.

Trompe L’Oeil can also be combined with Faux Effects. For example, a plain fitted wardrobes can be brought to life with Trompe L’Oeil painted panels and a Faux Wood effect.
